The Real Birthday of Jesus Christ

spacer.gifMany people in this world celebrate Christmas on December 25th as being the birth of Jesus Christ. However, is December 25th Jesus real birthday? If not, then when was it? These are the answers that will be truthfully exposed in this article. Since Christmas is celebrated as being the birth of Jesus Christ then it would be fitting to analyze the very book, The Holy Bible, to find scriptual evidence of his date of birth. You are also encouraged to do your own research on this subject to either support or refute this evidence.

spacer.gifThe bible does not indicate an exact date or time of Jesus birth. This is because God did not intend for us to celebrate Jesus bithday. There are also no biblical references of Jesus birthday ever being celebrated by any of his followers, which supports this notion. The very first time Christmas was even celebrated was not until a couple hundred years after Jesus death. Jesus directly told all his followers to think about the reason he was sent to the Earth, his death, his resurrection and his future coming as king. It was not to celebrate his birthday. However, God still gave us just enough biblical evidence to prove that Jesus real birthday is not on December 25th and that our Christmas is a deception. Unfortunately, most people would rather listen to the world and follow the ways of the majority instead of learning the truth for themselves.

spacer.gifSome great proof can be found at Luke 2:8 where is states, "Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night." It is very unlikely that the flocks of animals would have been living outside in the cold conditions since December 25th is in winter time. It is even more unlikely that the shephards themselves would have been living out in the fields at this time also! Temperatures are quite cold in modern day Isreal during winter time and can actually be severe at times. So the shephards and also thier flocks would have been living indoors for the winter season.

spacer.gifThere is more supporting biblical evidence as well. At the time of Christ’s birth, the area of Jerusalem was very crowded with visitors. Luke 2:7 states that there was no room at the inn for them. This inn was located in Bethlehem which is about 5 miles from Jerusalem but yet there was still no room there. The overflow of visitors is a good indication that the time of Jesus birth coincided with one of three holy celebrations. Deuteronomy 16:1-16 states these three holy times as the the feast of unleavened bread (Passover), the feast of weeks (Pentecost), and also the feast of tabernacles. Deuteronomy also states that these holy times were to be celebrated in Jerusalem. An example of this custom yearly trip to Judea can be found at John 7:2-10 and Luke 2:41. The bible also clearly details the dates of these three holy celebrations. By considering Deuteronomy 16:1-2 and Leviticus 23:5 we can know that the feast of unleavened bread or passover started on the fourteenth day of the first month. This is well known to be the equivalent to our March-April. By considering Deuteronomy 16:9-10 and Leviticus 23:15-16 we can know that the feast of weeks or pentecost started one day after seven completed sabbaths or full seven weeks. This was counted exactly 50 days from their gathering of their firstfruits. This celeration would occur in our May-June. By considering Leviticus 23:34 we can know that the yeary Feast of Tabernacles started on the fifteenth day of the seventh month. This is well known to be the equivalent to our September-October. All three holy celebrations which God had commanded to be made in Jerusalem all are far away from the end of December.
